Precedence Entertainmant Ups the Ante On The "Get The Best Of Bester" Contest 08/07/99

Precedence Entertainment announced today that the Grand Prize for their "Get the Best of Bester" Contest will feature a new, and unforgettable experience for the winner. The contest is to support the release of Psi Corps, the latest Expansion set for the Babylon 5 Collectible Card Game. The lucky fan who finds the Grand Prize Psi Cop Identicard in a random booster pack will now win a two night round trip ticket to Los Angeles, highlighted by dinner with Bester actor Walter Koenig, and Precedence CEO Paul W. Brown III.

Koenig is one of fandom's most adored actors, from his early work on the original Star Trek series as Ensign Chekov, to his very different portrayal of the Machiavellian Psi Cop Bester. The Grand Prize for the "Get the Best of Bester" contest will give one fan the opportunity to spend a truly special evening dining with this star.

The contest challenges fans to prove their "psychic prowess" by finding five Psi Corps identicards, randomly inserted into Psi Corps booster packs. The contest centers on the character of Alfred Bester, the dreaded Psi Cop who cannot fail to strike fear into the heart of anyone on Babylon 5. Each unique identicard wins a different prize. Prizes include signed scripts from the television series, each featuring Bester, an authentic autographed photo from the very first VORCon, or a set of the three autographed cards from the Psi Corps series. Additionally, each winner will receive a box of Psi Corps boosters, and other special Babylon 5 prizes!

Now scheduled for August release, the Psi Corps set will contain 150 new booster cards. Psi Corps starter decks will also contain 50 fixed commons and 10 randomly inserted uncommon and rare cards, and will retail for $9.99. Booster packs will contain one rare, two uncommon, and five common cards, retailing for $1.99 per pack. Featured autographed cards in the Psi Corps set are Walter Koenig (Bester), Robin Atkin Downes (Byron) and Tim Choate (Zathras).

Precedence Entertainment produces the Babylon 5 Collectible Card Game, the Fortune Teller Game, and publishes books in the IMMORTAL series. Precedence will debut a CCG based the smash-hit electronic game, Tomb Raider, in August, and a CCG based on Robert Jordon's best-selling Wheel of Time fantasy novel series in October of 1999.
