There are currently three versions of the "Babylon 5 Reference" available for download, with varying system requirements:

Windows flag icon Illustrated Windows Help version:

An illustrated version of the reference, including true color JPEG images. The .DLL used for this is not the best dithering example, so not recommended for 16 color systems and hi/true color is definately better than 256.

Existing users, please take a quick look a the Installation Instructions page for some important info on pictures!

VERY IMPORTANT
You will also need the latest image pack and one of the following support .DLLs, to be placed in the same directory as the .HLP file:

ImagePak, current file size 1528kB (Last update 1st June 1998)

Windows 3.x .DLL, current file size 83kB
Windows 95/NT .DLL, current file size 90kB

Note that these are updated versions (1st June 1998) and should replace your existing file of the same name, the other .DLL file, JPG32.DLL if you still have it, is now redundant and can be deleted. Finally if you experienced problems with high colour display drivers please let me know how you get on - this release should fix most of the problems.

Windows flag icon Textual Windows Help version:

Exactly the same as the illustrated version, but without the images. If you are running Windows via an emulator this is the version that is most likely to work, but check your documentation to be certain.

Text Only version:

A linear, text only, export of the reference in ASCII format. It contains almost the complete text of the reference but obviously with no images or hypertext linking included.

Miscellaneous files:

A couple of optional files.

PKunzip.exe for decompressing the downloaded files (29kB).
Serpentine Fonts TrueType fonts for use with Windows which are used automatically by the Hypertext Reference if available (157kB).

Mailbox icon If anyone wants to convert this reference to another format please contact me at ; I have numerous conversion and export tools available to make the task easier, all that I should need is details of the compiler that is required.
